Single mom needing help with groceries and bills

Hi there! I’m a single mom of two teenage boys. I’m self employed and have my kids full time. My business has been hit hard with the way our economy is going right now. Their dad hasn’t been paying child support for 4 months now. I’m in the middle of taking him to court for that btw. So I’m hurting pretty badly with managing financially and groceries. Single Mother needing help this month

Hello, my name is Tonya and I have been a single mother for many years… I receive no child support due to the father of my kids incarcerated.. Fund my children education

Dear reader, 

 

I hope and pray that all is well, and you find yourself strong and healthy. And that the blessing of the lord is with you, not just financially but spiritually. I am grateful that you are taking the time to read my story. Since covid-19 my children’s education has crippled. My oldest is 10 and my middle child is 8 years old. Recently, I received the news that my children are at a kindergarten level. I was sad and felt powerless because I don’t have the money to send them off to a good school. The public school that they were attending were lying about their growth. I did not find out the severity till I moved them to a charter school. That is when the teachers at this new school provided me with their testing results. I failed to look deeper in their last school. And now I would like to put them into an afternoon program that will help give them that one on one teaching. I have been in contact with an advocate to help me figure out the school system and what resources are available to my children. And resources are limited, and I have looked at different programs with decent prices. Which most of these after-school programs charge almost $300 a month per child. I am stuck cause I am going to college and not working currently due to my schedule. I handle the kids, household, and my school. I made the decision to go back to school so I can obtain an excellent job in the future for my family. My husband injured his back 3 years ago and so he is working at an exceptionally low paying job, only making 2k a month. He makes just enough to pay the bills. My husband is wonderful, strong, and responsible. He is a great provider, but with his back injury it caused him to lose his job and settle down for a minimum wage job. We can’t afford to give my kids that help that they need. My goal is to put my kids into an after-school program for at least 6 months and get them the help that they need to catch up on their education. Need $2k Rent + expenses 2023 has been a dumpster fire

I am a college-educated, responsible, and honest mother of 3. But life has taken some pretty drastic turns for me this year. My husband of over 20 years drained our bank accounts and left us without a word. We lost everything. So I moved in with my mother, who, soon after, was diagnosed with cancer and died within a month of diagnosis. I had to scramble, this summer, to find a home for my children and I.

By the grace of God, I was able to find a decent place to live with my children. I had hustled and had a little help from friends to get into a rental. I am so grateful for that, at least, as it was a HUGE obstacle. I had enough to pay for rent and bills up until this point. And now for November rent, it is coming down to the wire. I am also at risk of losing my car (inherited on a lien from my mother).

Although I have lost my marriage, my mother, my home, and all my possessions, I am still hopeful that things will work out for me on some level. I am a graphic designer and run a small Etsy shop. I pick up freelance writing gigs and am also involved in Data Modeling for AI Projects. All of this pays my basic bills EXCEPT for $2000 in rent this month. I must work online because I have lost 90% of my hearing and can no longer work in person with people in a normal way.

Wow, typing all of this out makes it sound very dire. 2023 has been horrible. But in many ways, I have been very blessed. Things could be so much worse. Each day I hustle online to make sure basic bills and food are covered. But the rent is a BIG chunk of my expenses. The main project that I relied on was shut down recently. So this took a big cut from my income.

I guess I am requesting as much as anyone can donate. I am determined to maintain my car and pay for all my expenses somehow. I know things always work out, somehow. I am hopeful that my circumstance may touch your heart to give. I believe that what goes around comes around and if you find it in your heart to bless my family, financially, I pray that goodness and abundance follow you through your life as well.

We are facing Eviction

Single Mom of 2 – Rent and Car assistance

I’m a 37 year old single mother of 2 boys, ages 12 and 8. Right off the bat I’m going to let you know I feel like a failure and also very vulnerable making this post. This past summer I ended a 5 year relationship which also resulted in having to find a new place to live + pay for everything on my own. I do not receive child support from their father, but I have a full time job and I also do food and grocery delivery when I can. Desperate Care taker

For the past ten years I have dedicated my whole life to taking care of my ailing mother.
due to unforeseen circumstances we were forced to move from our home we of 20 years. The grace of God lead us to buying a new home. We closed on this new home October 28,2022. Three weeks after closing, my husband left me. This was very unexpected and traumatic.
I am now left alone to take care of my mother, work full time and pay the new mortgage of $1368.00.

Facing Eviction! Please Help Us(May God Bless You)🙏

Hello my name is Marquel, and this is my primary time on here I knew nothing about this site til it was referred to me by a fellow companion and neighbor. She informed me of convenient resources such as this site and etc. I’m on here because I truly have an emergency where me and my family of 4 children included are facing eviction due to an accident caused by mechanical issues involving my vehicle that the brakes fail and my vehicle wouldn’t come to a halt prior to approaching the gate and it ended up hitting the gate. Therefore, management isn’t trying to compromise with me nor allow me to pay monthly installments or even put down a down payment instead their demanding the full amount of $6,000.00 within 30 days after my car insurance refused to pay towards the damages 😔😥. PCA in need of Vehicle or new Engine ASAP

Urgent car repair or new car funds needed ASAP 

Let me start by thanking you for your kindness in reading my plight.

History: A working (poor) class – Personal Care Assistant (home health care)

This has been my 3rd used vehicle in the last 8 years.  Having been a single mother from an early age, I never could establish credit, never any extra money to even get a secured credit card. I have always (with some help of my family) had to buy cheep vehicles up front that we could pool our money for.  

This car (at the mechanics), had to be towed in the middle of the night (10-22), I had to get my patient/consumer’s daughter to bring me back to her house, where I stayed gratefully, so I wouldn’t miss work that 8am-8pm (but mind you the nature of my job, is it is broken into 3 shifts 4, 3, 2 with several extended breaks. (just the nature of how PCA’s jobs are good, but around the clock, because of how Medicaid and Medicare pay for these services).

Another consumer returned from nursing home rehab on that same day. (For three months, my income was cut by half). My income will be returning enough if I can get this car situation taken care of. 

I will not be able to fulfill all my duties (e.g. pharmacy runs, grocery runs, transports, even getting to job sites) until my car is either fixed, or replaced to include taxes paid and new registration fees. 

I want to continue to be able to work, stop begging my sons for help (they cannot afford it either, but they try), and be a blessing,  I am asking humbly for assistance.

My son’s can either help me with my rent again or help me with some to get a car. I have raised wonderful young men, who are hard working, and try to help me as best as they can, but I feel I have been a burden these last few months when my income was cut for so long.

I am at a total loss, as to what amount I should ask for, as this is so fresh, and time is of the essence with cold weather here. There is no public transportation to my consumers’ locations, and because of the way my shifts run, Uber is not an option -It cost me $50, the last time I put my car in the shop in May  just to get home. (It would cost me apx. 100-300 / day)

If I stay out of work due to transportation, or lose any of my jobs due to lack of dependable transportation, this would continue to be an issue, and raise many more challenges. I am just shy of turning 54, caring, hard working, determined, but feeling a bit helpless. 

As to car situation:

The timing belt has been rattling a bit, and I knew I was pushing it, trying to work to save enough money to have it fixed. So yes, I will admit that these last few months of damage lay squarely on my shoulders to blame. It let go, and I heard the pistons misfiring. 

So either I get another engine for ‘05 Santa Fe or invest in another used vehicle to get me through a few more years. 

Wish: based on a quick internet search prices for small SUV AWD ABS automatic start around $8000. I am looking for another small SUV, as my consumers (while can stand and pivot) need extra room,  room to place the wheelchair in, good on gas, good climate control,  and that is good on snowy hills (we live in an region that has all the best and worst of seasons heat/cold. 

The engine for my 05’ Santa Fe is about 2000, plus labor (that is just the base if nothing else is wrong)

So if you are still reading my plea,  and should you feel like helping me with this emergency, I want to express my gratitude, words that seem too small at this moment.

The motor that rolls up the driver side window doesn’t work. That costs $1,100 to fix. As you can see the car also needs tires – that’s $100 – and a paint job – that’s between $600 and $800. The car also needs brakes, and that’s $600. That makes for a total of $2,400 to $2,600.

Drowning in debt trying to bring my wife home

My wife and I had been living together before recently getting married. My wife’s realtor stating he had a buyer for her father’s property in Brazil. My left to address this issue. My dear wife has been in Brazil for the last four months attempting to complete a sale transaction for her father’s piece of property.

We thought we finally raised enough money to pay the fees to complete the transaction so her money could be released, which was 4.5M, but was informed the other day that we need to pay more money, which we do not have since the other fees have taken everything else. We now owe 17, 000 to pay that old property tax that has been due on that piece of property. My IRA has been depleted and I am having difficulty raising enough money to bring her back.

I work as a social worker in a hospital and I currently am the only income in the home as she has been away. As a result , I have gone into debt . I have fallen behind on my house and car and need my car to work. I do not know what to do anymore. I have no family I can reach out to to help get her back. Everything I have tried has not panned out. I miss my wife terribly .
