Medical error threatens to ruin our lives

Last year in April, my wife, 57, had thyroid surgery. The operation had been planned for some time and seemed like a normal routine procedure at the preliminary consultation. However, it turned out to be a nightmare. Due to a lack of staff over the Easter holidays and the surgeon’s carelessness, her oesophagus was injured. After she woke up from the operation, she could hardly breathe and had to cough constantly. She was afraid of suffocating. She constantly had the feeling that if she had to swallow, something would flow into her chest cavity. She therefore instinctively refused any oral intake of food or liquids, although the hospital staff constantly tried to force her to do so. They thought she was hysterical and sent a psychiatrist to her bedside. It was only when my wife and I pleaded with him to have the matter investigated that he arranged a physical examination. First an endoscope examination and then an MRI scan revealed that the esophageal injury had indeed occurred. If my wife had complied with the nursing staff’s insistence, she would have died within a few hours because liquid or food would have entered her chest cavity and caused a fatal infection.

 

Since then, my wife has been 70% severely disabled and has care degree 2. I have been her caregiver since this traumatic incident. This has made it impossible for me to earn money regularly or even keep a job for longer over the past year. My priority has been to look after my wife so that she can possibly make progress and become more independent again. As my wife has also been unable to work since then, our financial situation has deteriorated very quickly. I had to max out all my overdrafts and credit cards. Until I was no longer able to service all my loans. All credit cards have been blocked, the loans have been canceled by the banks and my previously very good credit rating is gone. We’ve already cut back a lot and get food from the food bank. Nevertheless, the money we still have is barely enough to live on. If things go on like this, we’ll even lose our apartment because we won’t be able to pay the rent on time. We are both very desperate and don’t know what to do.

Homeless life on risk needs helps

Hello!
I am 25 years old young man but i am unable to work. I have been homeless since my grandmother’s funeral it was almost 2 years now. Currently i am living in a abandon decayed building. I am too much suffering lack of foods. I don’t have any of friend to get even a small help.My childhood also wasn’t enjoyable at all.i had attempted several times to suicide however i was able to survive. i have faced 3 more surgeries on my body therefore effecting bad health. right now life is going too much difficult.without a home multiplying problems.
I see everyday my same ages’ lifestyles . They are eating well,traveling having fun, raising families. But i got nothing probably reaching to a fateful destination. My body is very weak. But i believe i have strong mind it is not enough . After all i believe i can have a good life but the obstruction is the money how do i buy a home without money at least don’t have food to eat well. I think if i had a parent they still look after me.
I tried many of times to have a job i walked everywhere i asked from everyone though they ignore me. Their answers always definitely you are unable to work or not suitable to there positions at least minimum.
Why the society is brutal. I am eating only one time per day. I am asking from god how do i drag my life until dead. I am walking everyday home to home,every shop to shop asking some food to eat. My body is becoming sick specially under extreme whether conditions then don’t have medicines. My life is on critical risk.
I know there are plenty of wealthy kind harts around the world. I trust one of them can help me put my life comfortable. Struggling financially, horrible health.

Hello, thank you for stopping by and taking out of your time to read this. I don’t really know what to say or what to think. I just want to sleep the nights for once without having to worry about tomorrow. I am a teenage girl, working two jobs, trying my best to live out in the world. My parents are divorced and in a horrible financial condition, so in order to cut expenses my mother had to let me go out of the house. I am currently living in a group home. I am working day and night, 6 days a week, trying to save up for an apartment. Sadly, life played a trick on me and my health took a horrible turn.

I am awfully tired, always thirsty and I faint under certain circumstances. I am scared of my life. Scared that I will not be waking up, but also relived to know that I won’t be needing to endure this pain any longer. I’m just a girl, after all. I know my limits. I don’t want to have such a miserable life.

Hi, thank for reading. I need help with my old depth from school loan. Cause i was sick ( PST and Personality Disorder ) that i got from being abused by womens as a child. But, as much as  we’ve been blessed, we’re facing a harsh reality: we can’t afford rent or to buy a house.

My name is Diana, and I live in Sweden with my two children and dogs. I’ve always been on my own, with a few short relationships that resulted in my two wonderful children. I don’t have a good relationship with my mother. I am in contact with my father, and he stays with me during the weeks because of his job. He knows my situation but doesn’t have any money himself, so I don’t even ask him to help with the rent.

In 2019, I started a business with a friend (K9 Fitness). Its a training and rehab center for dogs. I’ve practically been on my own in running the business since my friend didn’t find it enjoyable. She is still a part of it but refuses to either leave or help with the work or finances. Last year, I received a bill for electricity (due to the energy crisis) of $16,172. I couldn’t afford it, but I got a loan from a friend, which I am, of course, still paying off.

I’ve tried to save money over the year, but unexpected expenses always arise, both in business and personal matters. I am on the verge of collapse. I’ve tried selling the business, but in today’s economic climate, no one wants to buy it. It’s been listed since last year. Bad timing getting into the job market, home sold by family

My name is Rodrigo, I just turned 47 and I currently have a pilot license (very low hours) that will expire soon and I’m having a hard time entering the job market, considering my age versus experience. Let me explain how I got myself into this situation. I finished my ATPL in 2013 and the job market hadn’t recovered yet from the recent recession. I myself had to start working in other jobs just to pay the debt from the course (about 1.000€ per month) and was unable to raise enough money to renew the license. I was able to do that just 7 years later. I finally got my first job as a pilot early 2020 and was a further 30.000€ in debt for the type rating. As I’m sure you are aware, COVID hit during my aircraft qualification and the company I was supposed to work with booked me a total of 20 hours flight and didn’t pay a salary for the years contract. I have since tried to work other jobs, and managed to renew my license again, but at 47 with very little experience it’s hard to get hired. Meanwhile last year my father sold the family home where I was living and now have to manage the bills, rent (prices are crazy right now – over 1.000€/month for a tiny apartment) and debt, not making me very hopeful for the future.
