I am a native New Yorker, raised in a metropolis that has uniquely influenced the person I have become. I aspire to continue educating and elevating myself toward a successful future. I aim to pay it forward to my community and city. Within this city lies a system that assists you when you are migrant or of low income with housing or education. Yet in this economy if you make more money then 19,000 dollars a year you are expected to be able to pay your living expenses and pay for your education. We know this is not feasible. As a person that does want to flourish and succeed to become economically independent beginning this path with outrageous student loans does hinder the momentum of one’s journey to success.
Breaking away from the economic structure that is built to enable this delay and pursuit for economic independence is an unfortunate struggle. Purchasing a home after going to school and facing thousands of dollars of student loans is impossible and forces Americans to stay within the lower economic status. I ironically know many successful immigrants that were awarded free rides in school can graduate debt free and purchase home but is your American born into a lower income family and struggling to get by were are faced with the choice of either taking out loans and continuing our lives in a continuous state of debt for years or being content to living in a lower income community. I am not afraid of hard work I am disheartened by the financial structure that stifles many Americans locking them into a social economic pool that is failing the American people. I am pursuing to secure a career in the medical field.
I am reaching out to those that have been fortunate not having to face these struggles. I ask for your assistants . I have always been fascinated by the medical field, which is a crucial part of society’s health. I have learned so much withinthe field these several years of working in it. I have obtainedleadership skills in my current role, gained plenty of insight, and become cognizant of what can improve the field. I am ready to continue my education and learn the administrative side of the health field. To understand the logistics that comprise the umbrella, we call the medical field.
My interest in continuing my educational growth has led me once again to seek CUNY to assist me on that path. My love for my craft as a Radiologic Technologist and my time as the Lead Technologist of the OR (operating room) in one of our New York City hospitals, has opened a plethora of opportunities and interests. Obtaining a bachelor’s in health administration would provide me with the tools I need to continue my growth in my field. It will also allow me to give back to my community and help me become an active member of an administrative team that will work diligently for the betterment of our NYC hospitals.
