Help Me Make My Dream of Retiring at 55 a Reality

If you’ve taken a moment to read this, thank you. Asking for help isn’t something that comes naturally to me, but I’ve learned that sometimes dreams are built one act of kindness at a time.

My life hasn’t followed the path I imagined.

Until I was 35 years old, I lived below the poverty line and relied on social assistance. I worked hard to change my circumstances, determined to build a better future. Over the years, I did just that. I helped build a successful siding company with my husband, and for the first time in my life, I believed retirement could someday become a reality.

Three years ago, after 15 years of marriage, I made the heartbreaking decision to leave and start over. Walking away meant leaving behind everything we had built together.

Then, two years ago, my ex-husband unexpectedly passed away. His estate was divided among our children, as it should have been, and I found myself beginning again with nothing but hope and determination.

Today, I own a home that I’m incredibly proud of, but the mortgage alone consumes nearly half of my monthly take-home pay. Like many people who have had to rebuild their lives later in life, I don’t have retirement savings waiting for me.

I turn 55 in just over two years, and for as long as I can remember, my dream has been to retire while I’m still young enough to experience the world.

Sadly, my body reminds me every day that time is precious. I struggle with significant knee and leg problems, and there are days when simply walking is difficult. I don’t know how many years I’ll have where travel is physically possible, and I don’t want to wait until it’s too late.

I’m not asking for money so I can stop working.

My plan is to earn my Travel Agent certification, launch my own online travel business, and continue working while I travel. I want to build a business that lets me earn an income from anywhere and remain independent for years to come.

If you’ve ever believed in second chances, I’d be incredibly grateful for your support. Whether it’s $5, $20, or simply sharing this page, every bit brings me one step closer to making this dream possible.

I’ve spent my life surviving.

Now, I’d love the chance to truly live.

Thank you for believing in me and for being part of this next chapter of my journey.
