My name is Stephanie, and I’ve been a nurse for 12 years, currently working in an emergency room. Nursing has always been more than just a career for me—it’s a calling. And for as long as I can remember, I’ve felt a deep desire to use my skills and compassion to serve others through missionary work.
Over the years, that desire has grown stronger, and I’ve come to believe that now is the time to step into that calling. I have a strong interest in joining Mercy Ships, a medical mission organization that provides life-changing care and surgeries to people in need, especially in underserved parts of the world. This opportunity feels like the perfect intersection of my professional training and my heart for service.
But I’m facing a major hurdle: debt.
I currently have about $38,000 in personal and student loan debt. Because of this financial obligation, I can’t afford to leave my job to volunteer, even temporarily. Like many people, I live paycheck to paycheck and carry the responsibility of paying off loans and meeting other ongoing financial commitments.
I’m reaching out in hopes of finding financial assistance that would help relieve this debt and allow me to say “yes” to the mission work I’ve been called to. Whether that support comes through donations toward debt relief, living expenses while I serve, or simply spreading the word, I would be deeply grateful.
My dream is to be able to step away from full-time work—not permanently, but long enough to volunteer and make a real impact without the weight of financial stress holding me back. Your support would help make that possible.
