Dear friend,
On October 7, 2019, while living overseas, I lost my dear husband of only six years to cancer. It was very aggressive prostate cancer, from the time he was diagnosed he lived about 6 months. Heartbroken, I returned to the USA trying to pick up my life again. I started working for a small religious non profit organization. Unfortunately, about two years and a half ago I was laid off because of forced downsizing due to a scandal. I supposed I would be able to find work, but have been dealing with bone on bone osteoarthritis in my knees and hips. I am slated to have my first surgery mid September. Due to pain, both physical and emotional due to both my husband’s death and the trauma from the drama around losing my job, I have yet to find employment.
I started to live on credit cards. I know that was dumb. My current debt is around $18,000. My current income is just $966 from my husband’s social security. I went to a credit card help agency that dealt with the card companies to lower interest rates and make monthly payments. The problem is, with having to pay for rent, car insurance and my cell phone bill, and the credit card payments I only have $60 left over. That’s $60 for food, gasoline and basic things for life. If I could pay off the $18,000 in credit card debt, I would be able to live a bit better, not worrying about how to eat or do normal life things. Yes, I do have food stamps, but just over $140 worth that doesn’t stretch far with grocery prices as they are.
I would greatly appreciate your kindness in helping me pay off this debt. Thank you so much for your consideration. May you be blessed a thousand times more in return.
