Hi, my name is Benjamin, and I’m asking for help during one of the hardest chapters of my life. I never imagined I’d be in this situation, but I’ve exhausted every option—and now, I’m reaching out with humility and hope.
Over the past few years, I’ve faced a series of life-changing hardships. Due to serious mental health struggles, I couldn’t keep a steady job. I made the decision to go back to school in hopes of building a more stable future. But with no income, I had no choice but to rely on credit cards—just to cover food and rent. They were never used for anything beyond the bare necessities.
Then, life got even harder. I was assaulted and tried to defend myself, which led to a battery charge. I’m currently on a diversion program, which means the charge will be dropped in time—but in the meantime, it’s showing up on background checks. Employers are seeing it and turning me away. I want to work. I need to work. But right now, I’m trapped in a system that’s not giving me a fair chance.
Now, I’m being sued by credit card companies and can’t register for the upcoming semester of school unless I pay off my outstanding tuition. The financial strain has become unbearable, and I’m at serious risk of losing everything I’ve worked for.
Here’s what I’m facing:
$8,498 in total credit card debt
$5,756 of that is currently in collections and being sued
$7,542 in unpaid tuition
I’m trying to raise $10,000 to cover my credit cards and tuition so I can move forward, avoid lawsuits, stay in school, and finally build a better life.
