Hello, my name is Shavontay Brooks. I am 37 years old, a single mom of one child (boy) who just graduated high school who I now have to support while he is perusing to be an electrician. I am a registered nurse at my local hospital in California. I graduated from a private RN school in 2019. I earned my bachelor’s degrees in Registered Nursing. Graduating was excising for me. Being a nurse was my passion since the 6th grade. However, as I started making money, I developed more problems (money problems) debt that is not getting better even when I pay extra on my credit and loan bills. I found that the more money I made, the less I could keep in my pocket. This makes it very hard for me to keep up with my mortgage and other bills. I am currently paying back student loans and credit card bills that accumulated while I was earning my RN degree. I find it is very hard for me to come out of this situation, no matter how hard I work. I have been working between 2 jobs 6 to 7 days a week not getting adequate rest to the point it’s starting to take a toll on my mental health. I have to work 8 to 12 hour shifts plus overtime just to make ends meet. All I am hoping for is to pay off my credit card, bills and student loans, so I can move on with my life and not have anything hanging over my head. I’m looking forward to paying off these bills so that I can start my nursing entrepreneurship business. I plan to open my own health and wellness business where I can serve the community by providing services that enhance peoples health. My first goal in this business is to start a brick and mortar IV hydration, beauty enhancement and skin care business. I have done a lot of research on how to start, but I do not have the funds due to having to pay my living expenses and debt. I’m asking for help so that I can Move on and pursue my dream career. I’ve learned a lot from bedside nursing however, I want more. I want to be able to serve my community in a different light. Anything helps and will be greatly greatly appreciated.
