Earlier this year my husband and I separated and I was left to look after our two young boys alone. 8 and 4. The youngest was diagnosed with level three non verbal autism shortly after and while there are benefits and help available, it is slow moving. As a result of his diagnosis, his school was not taking him full time which affected my ability to work. I’ve had car repairs and bills piling up and I just need a break till his disability benefit kicks in. Even just 5,000$ would make the world of difference. Once things have settled I’ll be ok but I feel like I can’t provide for my kids. It’s upsetting me and affecting my mental health. With the cost of living and groceries for a special needs child with a sensory disorder it can be hard. Food banks don’t always provide what I need.
