I’m a single mom but am embarrassed by the situation I am in. If it was one of those avoidable situations, I would not write this message. But just like with anyone else, we can fall into a bad situation at any time that is beyond our control. I am here looking to raise $10,000 to repay a personal loan.
Now, who am I? I am a single mom who works full time and has two sons – one of which has a drug problem. I work as a home health aide – which is a job that involves a lot of backbreaking work. Anyone who has cared for an elderly sick patient – whether it is a family member or a medical professional – understands how much work is involved – especially when you’re doing it by yourself. But I believe that with hard work comes a reward. By working hard, I was able to put aside the money I needed to repay the loan.
But the worst thing that could have happened actually happened to me. I withdrew the money and took it home. But before I was able to deliver the money to the person I owed it to, I had an emergency come up with my youngest son. Because of that, I had to make a quick run to the pharmacy for asthma medicine. When I came back home, I found out that my oldest son had left and stole the money! If you have ever dealt with someone on drugs, you know of the mental rollercoaster that you go through each and every day. Even worse, it hits you harder when they are the only one in your family to have any interaction with drugs.
I pray every day and do everything I can to help him get over his addiction. Right now, he is in rehab and I pray that it works. I wouldn’t wish this situation on anyone. It takes a lot out of you mentally. Add a very physically demanding job to the equation and I am left spent at the end of most days. So while my youngest son and I hope for the best, I still have a loan that I need to repay. This is why I am asking for your help. Any help that you can give will be truly appreciated. I want to thank you for any help you can provide – even if it’s just a prayer. Thank you.
