For over 16 years, my aunt has been my rock. As a single mother of two, she supported me through both pregnancies and was a crucial part of my escape and healing from an abusive marriage. She has always been there, offering a safe haven of stability, advice, and financial help when I had nowhere else to turn.
Most recently, after a car accident in November left us without transportation, she loaned me the money to purchase a replacement vehicle. We formalized the agreement with a signed promissory note, with the understanding that I would repay her in full with my tax return. However, an unexpected reduction in work hours caused me to fall behind on rent and household expenses, forcing me to use a large portion of my refund to prevent eviction. Now, I am unable to repay my aunt as promised.
I am committed to honoring my debt to her. She has given me so much, and I refuse to let financial hardship strain our relationship. My work hours are improving, and I am taking on additional work wherever possible, but I am still navigating financial constraints.
If there is any assistance available—programs, grants, or resources—that could help me repay this debt and regain stability, I would be beyond grateful. My goal is to achieve financial independence and ensure my children and I can stand on our own.
Thank you for reading. Any help or guidance would mean the world to us.
