Hi, my name is Lacey. I am 24 years old, a mama of a 4 year old little girl and an almost 2 year old little boy, and a full time college student who also has a small cleaning business on the side to help support my family as much as I can. I’m currently a stay-at-home mom because the cost of childcare is insane, so while my daughter is in school my son and I are home doing college work.
With my cleaning business I pay for my tuition and whatever I have left goes straight to my babies. I recently took out a student loan and was able to pay it off with my savings. Unfortunately, soon after I paid it off I took my car in to the shop to have a knocking noise looked at and they told me it was going to cost more to fix my car than what the car is worth and condemned my vehicle. My motor and transmission both need to be replaced, my frame is cracked in three places, and the subframe is snapped. Needless to say, I don’t drive that car anymore for the safety of my kids. I’ve been borrowing vehicles owned by family and friends for a few weeks and I cannot rely on that until I am able to get a steady job. I do not like asking for help or handouts because I’m a very independent lady, but I am at my limits and have no other option.
