I am a 44yr old male. I was recently divorced. I had/have 2 small children (5 and 6yrs old), who live with their mother. I lost a great job I had during COVID, was out of work a very long time, and jumped at the first opportunity I came across to work again. Needless to say, it set us back, caused a lot of financial stress, which only led to problems in our marriage. A short time later we separated, then divorced. I adore my children, and harbor no ill will towards her, so I let them have everything.
So, the past year, I have been working, paying off old debts, while living out of my car because rent is so expensive. on paper I make enough to get by. But just enough. I am behind, and as you may know, if you never have any extra, you can’t get ahead. I have no cushion, and every emergency or unexpected life circumstance just sets me back even further. Because I live out of my car I have to take my children to my mother’s for the weekend in order to spend time with them. This breaks my heart, and makes me feel like such a huge disappointment. My life is a mess, and I can’t seem to get back on my feet. Meanwhile, my ex-wife is already engaged to a man much more well off, and looking to move in within the next few months.
I work between 60 and 70 hours each week, but get paid for only 40 because I am salary. I do so because of the work load, and also as job security (I am doing more work than I get paid). This means I can’t really take on a second job.
I would love to give more details, but I don’t want to lose your attention. Bottom line, I am trying to find someone that will LEND me about $10,000 so i can clean up my finances and get back on my feet. I can’t take any loans. Because of my divorce and previous extended period of unemployment, my credit is destroyed. I want the opportunity to PAY back anyone that gives me the money. Even if it is years from now. I can’t fathom the idea of just accepting a donation without reciprocation. However, I am also a HUGE fan of paying it forward.
