Hi my name is Renee I’m from Larose, LA. Due to hurricane Ida I now reside in Lockport, LA which is only a few miles away. Hurricane Ida was a massive storm breaking century long records of destruction. Basically every 5th structure in our town & the surrounding areas were destroyed. I was only able to save about 10% of my stuff. After being out of work so long my bills piled up. Our parish was out of water & electricity for a while so the money I had saved I actually had to give it to my daughter for hotel stays out of town so she could be in a safe & sanitary environment because she was expecting at the time. After still trying to recover from hurricane Ida financially & emotionally I have developed a hardship. For the last past 8 years I have been working two jobs but due to decline in health I was forced to quit one. Also due to increasing living expenses, car repairs, etc. I have worked extra shifts at my job. I have took side jobs but I can’t maintain even with applying for a monthly food program donation & helping friends with odd jobs it’s rough. Just got a raise at my job but they also cut my hours. My check from last week is not even enough to pay my rent today. Any help would be gladly appreciated & I promise I will pay it forward.
