Hi. I am a single male living alone with two pets and have not been able to find work since December. It’s nearly December again, and I feel blessed to still have a home, but my landlord can only be so considerate before he resorts to evicting me. I feel he’s being so kind because he has kids who haven’t been able to find work either, but he also has bills to pay. I’m currently $8,125.91 past due on rent. I’ve managed to keep my lights on, using as little a/c and electricity as I can. I’m still actively looking for work, but I ultimately get rejection emails from the companies I apply or interview with. I once made my income from social media which became difficult once the COVID pandemic came and more people became influencers from having to stay at home in addition to algorithms deciding where content was distributed. I’m truly desperate and doing all I can to keep a home as I have no family support, and my best friend moved in with his family due to similar circumstances a few months ago. I’ve been a Homecare case worker, a call center real time analyst, and assistant manager in a restarting in the past, and I completed courses for medical office administration so I am qualified for work. I’m not certain what employers are seeking these days or if there’s just too many people applying to compete with. I’m asking for help from anyone capable and willing. It would give me more time to find a permanent solution and consistent, reliable income. I appreciate all who may take the time to read about my circumstances.
