I am swallowing my pride and asking for help. I’m 50 years old and divorced and I have been struggling with severe mental health issues for the last two years. I’ve been able to keep down a job for most of that time, but I was fired from a job in September and my savings have run out and I have maxed out my credit cards. I have rent due in eight days and I have no idea how I will pay it. $5000 would cover my rent and bills for February, and give me time to earn money to cover my March expenses. If I can’t pay my rent on February 1 they will evict me. I have no place to go, and I am scared to death at 50 years old of becoming homeless.
