Devastating fire and struggle.

In 2018, our family’s life was irrevocably changed when we lost our house to a devastating fire. In the space of an afternoon, our entire foundation was shattered, and we were forced to start over from scratch.

Five years later, we are still fighting the uphill battle of that loss. My wife and I, along with our three children, are a family of five who desperately need a place to call our own. We have been stuck in the cycle of renting—moving frequently, dealing with instability, and never having the security that comes with having roots.

I am a veteran, and like many who have served, I live with PTSD. For me, the trauma of the fire, combined with the instability of constant moves, has made the day-to-day struggle exponentially harder.

A home is more than just four walls; it is a safe haven. For someone managing PTSD, having a permanent, predictable environment is absolutely critical for healing and stability. Renting, with the constant threat of leases ending, rent increases, and neighbors coming and going, keeps me in a perpetual state of hyper-vigilance, making it incredibly difficult to manage my condition and focus on being the father and partner my family needs.

We aren’t looking for a mansion or a luxury property. We are simply seeking a modest, permanent space where we can:

Establish a safe, non-triggering environment for my recovery.

Give our three children the stability they deserve—the chance to settle into one school district, make lasting friendships, and have a yard they know will always be theirs.

Finally end the cycle of loss and temporary living.

The Ask: A Down Payment for a Fresh Start

We have saved what we can, but housing costs have soared since the fire, putting homeownership far out of reach. We are aiming to raise $80,000 to cover a down payment and closing costs on a modest family home.

This money will not just buy a house; it will buy stability, security, and a future where my family and I can finally heal and thrive.

Every single share and every dollar brings us one step closer to planting permanent roots and giving this veteran and his family the stable foundation we have needed for so long.

If you can, please consider donating. If you cannot donate, sharing our story widely is an enormous help.

Thank you for seeing our struggle and helping us finally come home.
