Me and my wife bought a house shortly after getting married in 2020 and about a month after moving in we had leaking water lines and had to get plumbing work done to get them replaced. And then another 6 months later our sewer line collapsed. I know now I should have had the house more thoroughly inspected. Soon after the sewer line we then had our fence collapse. We are still not able to fix the holes in the wall left behind by the plumbers when they replaced the water lines. Not long after the blow of the water, sewer, and fence my wifes 12 year old cousin got bone cancer. They could not afford her treatments on their own so we stepped up in helping them pay for them even when we were already in a mountain of debt. She is now completely terminal and they have ceased treating her. Now my wifes uncle (the little girls father) has also come down with serious cancer so we are yet again helping with expenses even though we are already at our max. I guess when it rains it pours as of this morning my wifes cars transmission is going out, and her grandma that has been suffering from dementia is needing a place to live or a caregiver to make sure shes eating or wont hurt herself last time we checked on her she had left her stove on and went to sleep. We might be expecting a baby soon and im not sure if I can handle the stress of the mortgage and debt we are in right now plus a baby.
We are in an absolute mountain of debt im doing my best and dont want to tell her we cant take care of her family but we truly can not keep going at this rate. Especially not since I was truly trying to take her on a nice honeymoon before we have a baby since we got married during covid we never got the chance to take a trip. (I know it sounds stupid considering everything else we are going through but I just wanted to do something nice for her and take her to see the world)
Currently over $45K in debt not including our mortgage which is at $181K. Anything helps truly thank you for your generosity!
