I live with my mom, who has three children including myself. My mom worked as a Health Aide Nurse for 5 years before she was able to save enough to get a small loan to start building a house for us. When she began the building process, we shifted to a one-bedroom apartment to save. In our current situation, there are 2 beds stuck next to each other which we all share. Since it is an open-floor apartment, the kitchen, and the bathroom are a few feet away from the beds.
However, in 2021, my mom lost her job when her employer let her go siting Covid-19 as the reason, and the loan was just enough to lay the foundation and erect some walls. Since I was employed, I helped with the loan payments and I have been using my finances to help us get by. I lost my job in August 2023 and I have been searching for something else.
With all this happening, I got the idea to use this platform to seek assistance. I know this is only a temporary solution, and that it won’t solve all our financial issues, but If I get assistance to finish the house, then I have an idea to build a small apartment downstairs which can serve as some form of passive income to repay the loan and help us in the future.
