Hi my name is Gabriel Harris, and I’m reaching out because I find myself at crossroads, seeking support for a journey I never thought I would have to take. Life has thrown me challenges, but today, I’m reaching out to ask for your help to overcome them. I am fundraising for three critical aspects in my life:
A new power chair: in 2014 my wheelchair reached the end of its journey. It’s battery and parts are obsolete, leaving me without the essential means of mobility. I have my eyes set on a Permobile sip and puff Power chair, a remarkable device that not only meets my mobility needs but also provides the freedom to recline. Unfortunately the price tag is a staggering $43,000 Canadian, and without extended healthcare or coverage I am relying on the generosity of the kind hearts like yours.
Work tools: as I embark on my journey to self-sufficiency, I require a new PC laptop with dragon dictate software Office edition to enforce my work efficiency. This tool will not only enable me to communicate more effectively but also empower me to pursue my professional goals.
Physical therapy: for the past 14 years, I’ve faced an absence of physical therapy due to financial constraints. I’m hoping to change this situation. I am seeking funds for physical therapy sessions, priced at $300 twice a month. Investing in my health is an investment in the future where I can lead a more independent and fulfilling life.
My journey: For those who don’t know I am a C2- C3 complete quadriplegic. I mean everybody is going through something, but my situation is making it really hard for me to get ahead. I haven’t qualified for extended healthcare coverage because, as they put it, “I was too broken“. Yet, despite facing adversity, I am determined to rewrite my story, I am driven to rebuild, not just my physical well-being, but also my dreams and aspirations.
