My wife and I are both teachers and we have three children. A daughter 30, and two sons 28 and 21. My boys were both diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when they were in elementary school. Even though we had a lot of expenses related to this, we always managed and stayed commited to paying for college for all three kids. Unfortunately, we had to take out many student loans on top of a bill consolidation loan for medical expenses. All was going well paying on these bills, however, fast-forward to 2022. My youngest was in college for about 6 weeks and was diagnosed with Rheumatic Fever. As a result he had to drop out of college and return home. Over the next year plus he had 9 hospitalizations (of 5 days or mer) plus a few ER visits due to myocarditis and pericarditis and was told to not be involved in type of physical activity. This has led to pretty sever depression, making it very difficult for him to get back into the swing of life (college or work). In the meantime, the medical expenses continued to pile up along with about $80,000 worth of student loans. We are trying to keep up. I am not a fan of requesting help, but if there people who have a heart of helping, anything would be appreciated. I am a helper myself, so it is hard to as to be a recipient.
