My name is Cindy Gannaway I’m 63 and from August 2022 until June 3rd of 2024 I lost several family members, including my mother my uncle my grandmother and the most devastating one my identical twin. I started taking care of my mom in September 2020 and my twin sister had lost her legs in August of 2020. My mother had been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma and my sister asked if I would take care of her to keep her out of a nursing home and I had already told my mom I would take care of her. I took care of my mom for 3 years my mother passed March 23rd of 2023 at home on hospice. I brought my twin sister home who was bilateral amputee a quadriplegic with the catheter and colostomy and eventually had a feeding tube I took care of her until June 3rd of 2024. My husband had helped me take care of my twin sister until he passed July of 2001 leaving me to take care of her. I have taken care of my twin sister since our early twenties and at the age of 61 is when she had passed away. After my twin died it was just a few months later I had been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma myself and severe stenosis in my neck I have to have a back surgery my spinal cord is pinched I’m not able to work my husband passed away almost 25 years ago and I need help with my bills before I lose my house I’m about to lose my car. After losing most of my family I have nobody to help me I took care of my sister till she passed away she was also on hospice she was my identical twin. I’m not a writer I’m not a speaker all I can do is speak from my heart that I would do it all over again to take care of my mom and my sister like I did and let them pass it home with pease and dignity and with family. At least I could do was to let him die at home with family and friends. but I’m begging for somebody to help me I am so financially and emotionally broken and struggling to pay my bills. I don’t usually ask for help but I’m at that point but I need help I have nobody to help me I can’t make my payments I’m about to lose my car I can’t hardly make my car payment. I’m going to MU Columbia hospital and it cost me $70 every time I have to go because it’s almost 3 hours away and it’s the only place that agreed to fix my back but it’s taking everything I have to go to doctors to schedule surgeries. My spinal cord is pinched in three places and both my hips are bad I have worked in the construction field and decades of being raised on a tobacco farm and married to a tobacco farmer I’ve done a lot of hard work I’ve done a lot of damage to my body and I need help because I have nobody to help me now so if you can find it in the kindness of your heart to help me I have at least a years worth a medical bills coming up and almost a year of back medical bills so anything will help may God bless you and you have a blessed day thank you for hearing my story and I hope you consider me as a candidate for a donation thank you for your kindness whether you except me or not kindness goes a long ways.
