My daughter struggled with weight her whole childhood. Her Dad was also overweight most of his life and he didn’t make very wise choices when it came to her diet. We were divorced when she was very young, so I didn’t have full control of her food choices. When she was 18, she was very much overweight, so her Dad basically forced her to have lap band surgery, which is performed to help shrink the stomach and force the patient to eat smaller portions and less often. She didn’t have much luck with it and she was sick from it for a while. She was never told that it should be removed, but she started having major stomach problems recently – she’s now 39 and needs to have it removed, but her insurance does not cover it. I’ve helped her some, but we need an additional $5000 as soon as possible. If anyone can help, we would sincerely appreciate it.
