I am looking for any help at all. This isn’t easy for me to ask but I am starting to feel hopeless. My wife and I are in the medical field, she is an advanced EMT and works on an ambulance and I am a nurse. We got married October 26, 2024. Shortly after we decided we wanted to do even more for our community so we joined our local fire department as volunteers. In order to do our best we went through the state fire academy together. During this time my wife was injured during a live fire drill and was medically unable to work. After a surgery and recovery she was able to get back to work at the end of 2025. Our savings was drained and we were at risk for losing our house. We were fortunate that she was able to get back to work in time for that not to happen. just as life was returning to normal in February 2026. She’s at work and experienced a stroke after hospitalized in the ICU for a few days. While she was recovering, she was unable to work and we unfortunately quickly depleted any savings that we hadn’t been able to accumulate for the few months she was back on her feet previously. She worked diligently with our medical teams to go through physical therapy and get herself back to work just two months ago. Again, our savings was gone and even with me working three jobs. The financial burden has just been too great. I have had to work and been unable to watch my kids at their sporting activities and missed many precious moments with them over the past several months just trying to survive. And a cruel twist of fate August 29 while my wife was coming home from work a deer ran out in the road in front of her and ended up totaling her car, it was over 10 years old so it didn’t take much damage, however, we were still paying on that car. Our insurance company is not working with the lender that has the loan on the car and has been pushing back. We have had to make payments on her car that she totaled as well as we had to get her another car so she could have a way to get to and from work. At this time, we are running behind in our bills and drowning in debt, even having to take out some payday loans to make ends meet. This is hard for me to do, and as the first person and my family to go to college, having to ask for help like this feels super embarrassing. I am not putting an amount on this request because I am generally open to any help that anyone is willing to provide. I hope once these unfortunate events are done I will be able to give a blessing forward in the future.
