Dear friends, family, and kind souls,
I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart and a story that I never thought I’d have to share. Many of you know Lily, my vibrant 6-year-old daughter who has always been the life and soul of our family. With her contagious laughter, insatiable curiosity, and endless energy, she’s the kind of child who lights up any room she enters. But recently, our world came crashing down around us when Lily was diagnosed with an extremely rare, incurable medical condition.
The illness has already taken so much from her. The active, bubbly girl who once danced around the house has been replaced by a version of Lily that is constantly tired, frequently in pain, and desperately missing her old life. Every day, she asks me when she’ll be better, and every day, my heart breaks a little more as I struggle to find the words to answer her.
Despite the grim prognosis, there is a glimmer of hope. After months of research and consultations with various specialists across the globe, we’ve identified an experimental treatment that holds promise. The treatment is not yet approved in our country, but there is a facility overseas that offers it. The results from their initial trials have been nothing short of miraculous. Families who had lost all hope are now seeing their loved ones reclaim their lives.
But here’s the catch: the treatment, travel, and associated medical costs come with a hefty price tag. Our family has already exhausted our savings, sold assets, and borrowed from every possible source to give Lily the care she needs. But we’re still short of our goal. We need $200,000 to get Lily to this lifesaving treatment.
So, I’m reaching out, with a humbled heart and a desperate plea. If you can spare anything, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us. We are not just asking for money; we are asking for hope, for a chance at a future where Lily can dance, laugh, and live life to its fullest.
I’ve always believed in the power of community and the kindness of strangers. Every dollar, every share, every prayer brings us one step closer to getting Lily the help she needs. Together, we can give her a fighting chance.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing our story. Your prayers, thoughts, and positive vibes are just as valuable.
From the deepest recesses of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read our story and for being a part of our journey.
With gratitude and hope, April S.
