It’s hard to ask for help, but I’m doing it for my sister, my 6-year-old niece, my 3-year-old nephew, and myself.
A year ago, we lost our mom. She was the heart of our family. She was the one who always made sure we were okay, no matter what. Losing her broke us in more ways than one. Emotionally, we’ve been trying to heal; financially, it’s been a constant struggle to stay afloat.
Since her passing, both my sister and I have faced periods of unemployment. We’ve been doing everything we can to provide for the kids, to keep their lives as normal and safe as possible, but lately, it’s been getting harder to keep up with rent and bills. Every month feels like a race we’re barely finishing, and now, we’re falling behind.
We’re not looking for luxury, just stability. A roof over our heads, warmth for the kids, and a little breathing room to get back on our feet.
