I currently work full-time earning $17.50 per hour. I have continued working hard to support myself, but saving for a reliable vehicle has been difficult. For a period of time, money was deducted from my paychecks because of an overpayment that had to be repaid. To stay current on my bills during that time, I worked overtime whenever it was available. More recently, my work schedule was reduced from 10-hour shifts to 8-hour shifts, making it even harder to build savings.
Reliable transportation would allow me to continue getting to work consistently while expanding my job search to better-paying opportunities that are difficult to reach without a vehicle.
I am not trying to purchase a luxury car. My goal is to buy a safe, dependable used vehicle that will help me become more financially stable and independent.
