This has been a tough few years for me. Out of college, I moved back in with my mother for both financial and medical reasons. Then our landlord sold the property and evicted us to move his family in. I got a job that I thought was a decent starting point but despite working as hard as I could, we ended up living out of our car. I decided to change careers and got hired as a teacher. it is a nice job, the pay is decent, good benefits and very rewarding.
However, between the two jobs, my mother had a medical emergency. She died for 8 minutes and became very ill spending two months in the hospital. To make ends meet I ended up maxing out some credit cards and helping her with medical bills.
Now we are stuck in a situation where we are still living out of a car, her health is getting better but the living conditions do not help, and living out of a car makes it really difficult to be a teacher. Things here are so expensive and between the medical bills, credit card bills, and student loans I am barely breaking even. I’m set to go back to college soon and finish my teaching credentials between everything, my mental and emotional well-being is stretched thin already.
I’m asking for a little help, anything you can spare to help us get an apartment. All we want is a stable foundation to start building from there.
