When the pandemic started I was one of few people who were doing well. Unfortunately, I had family members who weren’t doing well at all. I couldn’t see them in the street so I welcomed them into my home. During this time I also retired from my job. I thought my family would be ok after a few months. Months turned into years. Every time I looked something was broken, or totally destroyed. The pets they bought with them also became my responsibility. I bought food and litter and I was also the only one feeding and cleaning the litter boxes. There were children in the house. Dirty litter boxes can be a health risk to people and animals. I took care of entire family. I begged them to help with household bills because my savings were dwindling drastically. The only reason I didn’t throw them out was because of the children. I couldn’t stand the thought of the children being out in the cold. I’m currently trying to find another job, which wasn’t in my plans. Not too many employers’ are hiring people in their 60’s. Can you imagine taking care of a family of 4 plus their pets? It was a nightmare. I had enough money to take care of myself. Enough to figure out what I wanted to do next. Yes, I know this is my fault but I was trying to help someone in need. I want to start a business but I need to get back on track. The family members I helped? I can’t get in touch with them. I’m hurt and disappointed. I’m left struggling to get my life back.
Once I’m back on my feet I will be sure to pay it forward. Until then, Thank you in advance to whoever reads this and donates. God bless you. Even though family took advantage of me, I will never stop giving, or helping others. However, I will be more cautious next time.
