My name is Asanti, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a deep sense of urgency.
Just two months ago, I achieved something I was incredibly proud of: I moved into my very first property at the age of 22. It was the start of a new chapter, one I worked hard for through savings, planning, and dedication. I was excited to finally have a place to call my own.
But everything changed in an instant.
I was assaulted inside my flat, the very place that was supposed to be my safe space. This traumatic experience not only left me injured and emotionally shaken, but it also resulted in significant damage to my home and belongings. Furniture was broken, parts of the property were damaged, and my peace of mind was completely shattered.
Since then, I have been facing a mountain of unexpected expenses, including medical bills, home repairs, and the cost of replacing essential items. I have tried to stay strong and handle things on my own, but I am truly struggling. I am now at serious risk of losing my home and becoming homeless. The financial pressure is overwhelming, and I cannot do this alone.
