My name is Randy West, I live in the city of Las Vegas, in the state of Nevada. I work as an independent contractor, most notably, as an Uber driver, and an Lyft driver. When the pandemic occurred it virtually shut the business down, and where we were once thriving with people needing transportation, the entire world came to a stand still. Of course this means that no one was moving about, so there was no business for drivers. I was able to switch to the food delivery side of the business, with Uber eats, grub hub, and later door Dash, but in actuality the payrate is far less when you’re transporting food as opposed to people! When the industry began to return to normal several years later, I myself became the victim of Covid 19 causing me to be hospitalized for a duration of time, needless to say I was very reluctant to return to transporting strangers, due to my fear of contracting the disease again, as I consider myself very fortunate, to have survived a plague that has claimed the lives of millions of people. In trying to earn a living on a reduced salary, still trying to pay my debt load, I’ve run into problems staying current on monthly payments of my bills. Obviously I use my car in order to work daily, however I have fallen 3 months behind on my car payments, and I have received a letter from the bank, threatening to repossess the car, if I don’t pay the balance now. This is where I need assistance, as the due amount is $1,500. I must be able to keep the car, so as to continue earning a living. Your help will be beyond greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
