Hello all, I feel a little cowardly to be on a website asking for money for this but here is my situation.
I am an 18-year-old university student who has been struggling with gambling since I was 15 years old.
I have been losing every dime I made for the last 3 almost 4 years and I have now decided to make a change in my life. (a little late I know)
At one point in time, I was stealing money from my father (who isn’t a great guy either but besides the point)
Addiction therapy where I live is not cheap (about $200 a session) and I currently am making what I can being a part-time business owner or side gig of detailing cars while also attending classes. it averages out to about 500-700 a month.
This is to cover groceries and gas monthly (my parents pay my rent of $800)
I am currently about $2100 in credit card debt (and rapidly increasing)
I know this sounds like a pity paragraph and I agree I’d look at it that way too. My goal is to continue therapy and pay my dad back by the end of the year, so if you have gone through any situation like this and can find it in your heart thank you.
I’m gambling free for about 12 days now and I feel great, I’ve paid for 1 therapy session myself but I won’t be able to sustain it.
