Emily’s B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Fight

My partner for the past five years, the love of my life, Emily, has been diagnosed with B-ALL (B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). Being close friends for seven years before our relationship only strengthened my feelings. I cannot imagine life without her, or her having to go through this alone.
She went to the hospital seeking treatment for blurred vision and abdominal pain, and there she learned she had leukemia.
But who is Emily? Growing up in a family of five, Emily is the middle daughter. Since childhood, she’s had a passion for cooking, baking, and food science. A hard worker, she started working with her father in the kitchen at a young age and eventually earned a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Nutrition. In 2021, Emily lost her father to bone and lung cancer, a heavy blow that never truly fades. Now, she’s a catering manager at a private school, fueling the hungry tummies of students from kindergarten to high school. She’s also the loving dog mom to Nessie, a charming Staffordshire Terrier she adopted this year, who brings her immense joy.
Emily’s symptoms will make it difficult for her to be the workhorse she’s used to being. The fatigue, shortness of breath, pains, and easy bleeding and bruising will take their toll.
She’s already endured so much, with both her father and grandmother passing from cancer in recent years. My goal is to keep her stress-free, especially now.
Emily needs to be comfortable and well cared for during this fight. Currently, we’re struggling financially. We’re behind on gas and electric bills, have no emergency savings, and face unexpected expenses related to this diagnosis. Gas prices are high, and travel to and from Dana Farber and other appointments adds to the financial burden.
All funds raised will ensure Emily’s comfort and safety during treatment, freeing her from worries about utilities, food, or transportation. They’ll also serve as a safety net in case life throws additional challenges our way. Importantly, they’ll allow us to continue providing a good life for Nessie.
We deeply appreciate any support you can offer, whether a donation or simply sharing her story with friends and family. We can’t do this alone, and from the bottom of both our hearts, thank you.
