Aloha, I’m a 69 year old greatgrand mother that obtained a home 22 yrs. ago through a USDA program Self Help Housing. After keys where given it was discovered the driveway was not complete and under the surface was hollow, several feet deep void of dirt or concrete. To date the surface concrete has several cracks and is at risk of collapsing. I’ve also lost dirt due to not having a retainer wall with landscaping around the property. My home appears to be shifting, I was told this was due to soil loss. There is or was a leak in the wall between the bathrooms that weakened the floors. Once this work is done I plan to petition funds to payoff the mortgage and join my daughter in Georgia. I pray this emergency request touches many who are able help. I’ve worked in these communities for thirty years. Developed and managed a pilot program at the homeless shelter collecting data for their board of directors to prove providing a little support would curve the recidivism rate of homelessness. Thus the shelter has and continues it’s supportive housing program today because of that data. I just don’t want to become a victim of homelessness because of a lack of money and skills.
