Hi, and thank you for being here.
I never thought I’d find myself in this position — asking strangers for help on the internet. As a man and a father, I’ve always taken pride in being able to provide, to stand strong for my family, and to protect my child from hardship. But today, I’m at a breaking point, and I have no choice but to ask for help.
I’m currently going through a difficult divorce that has left me emotionally drained and financially overwhelmed. I am the sole caregiver for my young son, and every day has become a struggle just to keep the lights on, put food on the table, and cover the costs of basic living.
There’s a deep shame that comes with writing this — not because I think asking for help is wrong, but because I feel like I’ve failed my son in ways I never wanted to. But right now, pride can’t come before his needs. I have to put him first, even if it means humbling myself to ask for support.
I’m trying to catch up on bills, keep a roof over our heads, and manage urgent legal fees tied to custody. I’ve picked up every gig and job I can, applied for assistance, and stretched every dollar. But now I’m out of time — I have less than 4 days before I fall behind on critical payments and things start slipping through the cracks.
