Hello my name is Michael. I am 47 years old. I have worked as a cook/chef for over 20 years. Last February I had a neer fatal seizure. Afterwards I needed help walking, eating, bathing, and using the bathroom. After the seizure I discovered that I had carpal tunnel syndrome in both my hand. Tearing muscles in both my shoulders with the left showing arthritis. Along with hyper tension. With all of these things that was made worse by the seizure. Subsequently I was put on disability which has been helpful. Unfortunately my mother that lives in another state has been having her own health issues juggling diabetes and asthma. She has needed help with money through my journey to recover, and get to better health. I have been helping a lot when she has needed it for not being able to see and know just how bad things are for her during this time while struggling to find work. Unfortunately my disability payments ended early this year, and with all the money I have given my mother I am finally just about financially tapped out. I am still in physical therapy for my shoulders, and my hands after finally having carpal tunnel release surgery. I am still not able to work, and I’m having trouble getting state assistance. Soon I will not have money for bills and food. I would like to be able to take care of these things while helping my mother as best I can. I don’t know what to ask for.
