Hello!
I was just diagnosed with a rare auto-immune illness that is slowly causing my liver to fail. I have been sick for about 13 years and getting progressively worse and worse. In the last few months, I started having major neurological problems that caused me to be unable to walk, swallow properly, drive, speak, or think.
As you can imagine my ability to work has suffered immensely and I got further and further behind. I am a single 54-year-old woman with no family that can help at the moment.
I had been searching for a diagnosis for years with no help. Just getting worse and worse. I was finally given a diagnosis just last month and was both relieved and scared.
The good news is that with my diagnosis I got a treatment that slows the progression of the disease and helps some of the symptoms. The neurological symptoms were due to my liver being unable to process toxins and digest certain vitamins. So as soon as I got treatment those got better. I may need a liver transplant later in life, but hopefully not! There’s no cure, just management.
I am still saddled with severe fatigue that limits what I can do in a day as well as other symptoms that limit me. And I have limited ability to catch up on my past due bills. My mortgage is the most important one.
I do not want to lose my home. I love my home and I can’t imagine having to move with the lack of energy that I have. It’s overwhelming. I just need help catching up and I will be able to manage going forward now that I am doing a bit better. I do have plenty of work (from home) that I can do. I’m just finally being able to put hours in again. My brain has started to work again!
I need $6000 to catch up on my mortgage, car payment, Insurance, and utilities). I’m 29 days behind on my mortgage right this moment!
I’ve been struggling for years but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just a bit of help is needed to get there.
