After years of saving, my husband and I finally bought our dream home. It wasn’t extravagant—a small house two bedroom, one bath—but it was ours. We were so excited, imagining a lifetime of memories within those walls.
Six months after moving in, everything changed. I had to undergo emergency surgery for a sudden health issue. The recovery was tough, and the medical bills started piling up. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs were staggering. My husband reassured me we’d figure it out together.
Except we didn’t.
Two weeks after I returned to work, he told me he’d fallen in love with someone else. I begged him to stay, to work through it, but he was already packed. He left me with a broken heart, a mountain of debt, and a home I couldn’t afford on my own.
Now, I’m doing everything I can to stay afloat. I’ve cut every expense possible, picked up extra shifts, and sold anything of value, but it’s not enough. The mortgage, the medical bills, and everyday costs are overwhelming. I’ve tried to stay strong, but I’m running out of options.
This house was supposed to be a fresh start, but now it feels like a weight I can’t carry alone. I’m terrified of losing everything.
I hate asking for help, but I don’t know where else to turn. If you can spare anything—even just a few dollars—it would mean the world to me.
Thank you for reading my story and for considering helping me through this incredibly difficult time.
