Hello Potential Saviors
Like so many other deserving individuals on this site, I find myself in a desperate situation and have decided to see if I may receive help from this site. Unlike others that seem to be so many in number, I am not in need due to COVID or personal disaster. Rather, I am a giver who has just learned to say no and KNOW when that is a good thing and to stop putting myself in pain and jeopardy for others. Two years ago I decided to sell my condo, buy an RV and go back to school to earn a degree in Psychology. I took a personal loan of $10,000 to fix my condo and list. However, as it seems to be a habit, fate had other plans and I ended up adopting my granddaughter and trying to get my daughter back on the right path in life. Then soon too, my son hit a rough patch in his life and had to move into my home for a while. Although they are both adults, I was raised that “you always help family out.”
Then last year, we discovered that my mother was having issues with memory and wasn’t taking care of her diabetes. She ended up in the hospital with ketoacidosis, she had suffered a stroke as well and then was diagnosed with moderate vascular dementia. Since I had semi-retired (preparing for full retirement and moving), our small family meeting to discuss my mother, led to my deciding to fully retire and take on the brunt of helping so that my sister and my mother’s partner could continue working as they more desperately needed to keep their jobs. Here we are sixteen months later, my income cut in half and although I am at the final stage of waiting for my bankruptcy discharge, I am close to having to file bankruptcy again. I am trying to find work at home options but am already at the point of having maxed out my credit cards, am now late on my mortgage payments and cannot do a refinance or home equity loan due to the bankruptcy not being discharged. The only other option I have considered at this point is to sell my home and still buy that RV so I can pay off my debt and have some money. This, however, isn’t an ideal situation for a 7 year old to be raised in. Others may view that statement as incorrect but this child has been through enough trauma in her short life and I would like to keep it somewhat as stable as possible.
Thus, I find myself hearing about this website. So, I too, am here to seek a helping hand from the kind and helping hands that peruse this site. I am asking for $35,000. This would pay off my personal loan, my credit cards and allow me to finally finish the renovations that were started and never finished in my condo. I truly appreciate anyone who has taken the time to read my story and to possibly help out. Bless all on here who also need help. As our family motto these days go, “This too shall pass!” – hopefully with your help.
