I currently work at a hotel, (not sure if I’m allowed, or should put the name of the hotel in here) I work the front desk night audit part time. Normally I am able to pay my bills, and there’s no issues, but this month has been rather unpleasant, with everything piling up on me and living paycheck to paycheck I had to reach out for help.
I recently had to take a trip to the vet for a couple of my little one’s. (pet rats, I have 7. Their names are Gus, Tup Tup, Sniffler, Tinker, Eep Eep, Zoop Zoop, & Carrot, they are my world)! Eep Eep, and Carrot had the starting symptoms of respiratory infection, which is very common among rats. Their symptoms were minor being that they had porphyrin on their fur behind the ears. Porphyrin is a red substance secreted from the nasal cavity that looks similar to blood. I believe it originates behind the eyes, (if I’m not mistaken) and is secreted through their eyes and nose. Now, seeing this behind their ears, back of neck/shoulders I knew how it got their. Rats groom themselves quite often throughout each day by licking their paws, in doing so the porphyrin from their nose transfers to their paws and when they reach behind their ears on top of their head to clean themselves. The porphyrin is then transferred from their paws to their fur on the back of the neck behind the ears.
I had noticed the fur behind their ears had been lightly glossed red for a couple days and decided to make the call to my vet. Now, thankfully they were able to get me an appointment and bill me afterwards to pay it later. (The bill is overdue for $75 and some change as of the 21st October).. They gave me antibiotics suspended in water to be administered orally through a little syringe. Eep Eep took his meds every day without much fuss, but Carrot on the other hand was a little stinker! He’s the baby of the colony and naturally very restless and squirmy in general, especially when I hold him. But boy did he squeak, and squirm and fight me all the way every dose I gave him that week.
Normally as I said I am able to take care of the little one’s and handle my bills with what little I have but, with the cost of food, gas, phone bill, this, that, I am unable to make the payment this month to the vet. Now I am also worried because I have no idea how I am going to be able to pay for my car note either, that’s another story, a $250.oo story. Originally I was driving my dad’s old car, he gave it to me after he bought a new one but someone tried to steal the catalytic converter on it and ended up slashing the coolant line in the process. I got both of those fixed and thought I was back in business but the mechanics didn’t realize that the coolant leaked into the cylinders of the vehicle and after about a month the car was in bad shape again. They said it needed a new engine so I was faced with getting a car on the lot there at the dealership where I take the car to get serviced. So, I got the Corolla and they took the old car for 250 as down payment for the loan and I drive off with a working vehicle without having to put any money down. The only catch is obviously the car note for $250 a month. Normally I can pay it and I do pay it but again I’m falling behind fast this month and I really need help.
I’m asking for $325.00 pay the $75 vet bill that I am behind on and $250 to pay the car note that I will be behind if I am unable to find a solution. Thank you for taking time to read my story, and for any support you can provide.
