Help us build safe shelter and predator-proof fencing for sanctuary emus and other animals in northern Arizona.
In the Arizona desert, survival for animals depends heavily on proper shelter, secure predator-proof fencing, and reliable water access. I am reaching out with humility to ask for help creating a safe, permanent infrastructure for the sanctuary animals already in my care – especially our loving emus, who require specialized housing, wide protected space, and STRONG predator resistant enclosures to live safely and comfortably.
I work full time and personally fund the daily care of the animals, including feed, veterinary expenses, and ongoing land maintenance of forty acres. Every paycheck contributes directly to their needs. My heart for these animals is definitely larger than my paycheck. Building a large-scale protective infrastructure required, such as barns, fencing across several acres, water storage systems, and land preparation, is a much larger financial undertaking than I can complete by myself within a reasonable timeframe. This request is NOT about expansion or profit; it is about responsibly protecting these beautiful animals with the most sweetest purest of souls. Especially Arthur and Espresso – the emus, Monica and Spotify – the pigs, and many others. They all depend on me for their safety, care, nurturing, devotion, and well being.
Because transparency matters deeply to me, anyone who would like to support us are welcome to help in whichever way feels most comfortable: financial contributions toward construction costs, purchasing specific materials directly, or helping connect us with local contractors and service providers who may be able to help. I will gladly share updates so supporters can see exactly how each contribution directly improves all of their living conditions.
The most urgent needs right now are:
Hiring a local fencing company to install approximately five acres of PREDATOR-PROOF fencing.
A 2,500 – 5,000 gallon water storage tank to ensure reliable year round water access.
Construction of a secure barn structure to provide weather protection and safe overnight shelter. Doesn’t have to be a big ole’ fancy barn. There are metal framed barns that can fit upwards of 20 animals that are reasonably priced that will work to keep them safe at night.
Lumber, post, gates, building materials, railroad ties, fencing for shelters, shade areas, and reinforced enclosures.
Land leveling services to safely prepare the fencing and building areas.
Solar power system for lighting within the barn.
Concrete services for the barn floor.
Corrugate panels for roofing, wind protection, and shaded structures.
Even small contributions move this effort forward and will help create immediate safety improvements for the animals. If donating is not possible, sharing this campaign with others, referring trusted contractors willing to donate their time and/or any left over building materials, or helping source materials locally makes a meaningful difference as well.
I know this is a long shot but I have faith someone will find it in their heart to help us and the animals. I know it deep down. I know there are still good people out there.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of this and for helping create a safer, more secure home for Arthur, Espresso, Monica, Spotify, Buddy, Charlie, Rizzler, Max, Amigo, Lucy, Betty, Heather Feather, Lourdes, Xochitl, Bisbee, and others here in northern Arizona. They all rely completely on responsible human care and compassion. And love – let’s not forget about love. Love is something they are all not lacking. I promise you, these animals are and will always be loved and cared for as long as I have air in my lungs. Your contribution is safe, will be handled honestly, and with integrity.
Thank you for helping.
