Hello, my name is Abelardo, and I live in Illinois, USA.
I’m sharing my story with the hope that someone out there might be willing to help me overcome one of the most financially challenging periods of my life.
A while ago, I was working hard toward one of my biggest personal goals: purchasing a home and building a stable future for myself and my family.
During that process, I took out a personal loan to help manage expenses related to buying my home and consolidating existing financial obligations. At the time, I had a steady job and believed I could responsibly handle the monthly payments.
Unfortunately, life took an unexpected turn when I lost my job.
Losing my employment changed my financial situation dramatically. The bills didn’t stop arriving, and my financial obligations remained the same, even though my income had disappeared.
I did everything I could to get back on my feet, and eventually, I was fortunate enough to find another job.
I’m incredibly grateful to be employed again. However, my current income is significantly lower than what I was earning before.
Today, I am carrying approximately $30,000 in personal loan debt, with monthly payments of $850.
I have continued making these payments because I take my financial responsibilities seriously. But the reality is that paying $850 every month has become extremely difficult.
After covering the loan payment and other essential living expenses, I often find myself struggling to make ends meet. Sometimes, I have to rely on additional borrowing just to cover necessities, creating a cycle of debt that feels increasingly difficult to escape.
I’m not asking for money to purchase luxury items, take vacations, or avoid working.
I’m already working, doing my best to support my household, and trying to rebuild the financial stability I once had.
What I’m hoping for is an opportunity to finally break this cycle.
My fundraising goal is $30,000, which would allow me to pay off my personal loan and eliminate an $850 monthly obligation.
That would make a tremendous difference in my life.
Instead of constantly worrying about how to cover the next payment, I could use my income to pay essential expenses, avoid taking on new debt, and gradually rebuild my savings.
I understand that $30,000 is a significant amount of money. I also understand that many people are facing their own financial challenges.
I’m not expecting any one person to solve everything for me.
But if someone with the financial means to help happens to read my story, even a small contribution would bring me closer to my goal.
I’ve also created a GoFundMe campaign where you can learn more about my situation and support me through an established fundraising platform:

Whether you are able to donate $5, $50, $500, or simply share my story with someone who might be willing to help, I would be sincerely grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering giving someone who is working hard a chance at a more stable financial future.
With gratitude,
Abelardo
