Please help me with my female dachshund’s oral surgery. Her name is Jordy. She is an 11 year old all black miniature dachshund. I have been softening Jordy’s food and giving her canned food to help her eat but she still is having pain. She has actually lost weight due to not eating as much because of the pain. Jordy will rub the sides of her mouth on her blankets or the floor to alleviate the pain and paw at her mouth, it is so sad to watch. Jordy’s breath is also very bad from her teeth needing attention. I have tried brushing her teeth but lately it’s too painful for her.
Jordy’s veterinarian has given me the estimate of the cost of the surgery. They have quoted between $3800-$5000 due to how bad her teeth/gums are. After doing x-rays on her mouth they are estimating having to pull between 10-15 teeth. Jordy will be put under anesthesia and be kept for most of the day after surgery to make sure she is okay. They will also prescribe pain meds and antibiotics to take home.
After getting this estimate I just broke down and cried. I do not have that kind of money just laying around to pay for her surgery and unfortunately it needs done immediately before it gets worse. I am asking anyone who can help me get my Jordy back to being pain free, I would greatly appreciate the generosity.
