I am raising funds on behalf of Myself and My Daughter who is an incredible Young Lady whose strength and dedication inspire everyone who knows her. I put the needs of my family before my own, despite facing challenges that would overwhelm most people.
I am a full-time caregiver for my daughter, who was born with DiGeorge syndrome. After undergoing a life-saving heart transplant, my daughter’s kidneys failed, and she now depends on dialysis three times every week to stay alive. Because of their unstable housing situation, she was denied placement on the kidney transplant list—a heartbreaking setback that has made finding safe, stable housing even more urgent.
Although I receive IHSS income while caring for my daughter, it is simply not enough to cover the family’s basic needs. I am also raising four other children and helping care for my eight-month-old grandbaby. In addition, I am apart of the “sandwich generation,” providing support and care for both my mother and my grandmother while trying to keep my family together.
I have worked tirelessly to find employment that fits around my daughter’s dialysis schedule. I have applied for countless jobs, invested in a remote job subscription service, and continues searching every day, but finding work that accommodates my caregiving responsibilities has been far more difficult than expected.
As if these challenges weren’t enough, my family is now facing an unlawful detainer after my rental assistance program stopped paying rent because of a severe infestation in our apartment. Despite repeated requests, management failed to correct the problem or relocate our family, even though other tenants with similar issues were moved to different units. Living in these conditions has forced our family to throw away many of our belongings, and we are now preparing for court while being told I may have to pursue a separate civil case to hold management accountable.
The emotional, physical, and financial toll has been overwhelming. No family should have to live in unsafe conditions while caring for a medically fragile child.

- Security deposits and moving expenses.
- Essential furniture and household items to replace what was lost.
- Utility deposits and other basic necessities.
- Support while continuing caring for my daughter and searching for employment that will work with my family’s medical needs.
I have spent years fighting for my daughter’s life and doing everything I can for her children. Now I need others to stand beside us during one of the hardest seasons of my life.
