My business, once providing jobs to more than 20 people, unfortunately faced certain setbacks, and I am in a really tough financial situation. it is now standing at the brink of collapse. The economic downturn in Sri Lanka, aggravated by the global disruptions of the pandemic, led to an unprecedented drop in sales, considerably hampering my effort in meeting the operational costs and servicing business loans. During this trying period, I was also required to confront the personal tragedy of my father being diagnosed with cancer. I turned out to be his chief carer and used up my savings to try to provide him with the best available treatment. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, my father passed away, leaving me both emotionally and financially drained.
As my business struggled to survive amidst these challenges, my loans began to fall into arrears, and before long, all of them were classified as non-performing. With the downturn in my business, my creditworthiness suffered, and I was unable to secure any further financial support from banks or lenders. Because of this, I had no choice but to scale down operations. What was once a busy furniture business with upwards of over 20 employees now operates with only two employees.
Today, I am seeking financial assistance in the amount of $85,000 to revitalize my business venture into furniture. With this money, I can pay off old debts, restock my materials, and buy appropriate inventory to restart the businesses. Your generosity would enable me to employ more people, reinstate the production line, and get back the much-needed jobs in my community. My business has always been a source of livelihood for many, and with your help, I can bring it back to life.
The funds will be used to clear overdue debts, replenish furniture materials and supplies, and cover the basic operational costs required to restart production. I am committed to making my business a success again, creating employment opportunities, and contributing positively to the local economy. Without this assistance, I fear that my business may not be able to recover.
