Life is a collection of experiences that shape and mold us into the individuals we
become. It is through these encounters that we learn and grow as the people God
meant us to be, beyond our own understanding. They are like fragments of a
puzzle that come together to form the foundation of our identity. These
recollections often carry immense weight, influencing our beliefs, values, and
perceptions of the world around us. Through sharing my own life experiences and
an incredible spiritual foundation I Reflect on my own life experiences, I have come to understand that
every triumph or setback has contributed to shaping me into a more compassionate, empathetic individual. These experiences have taught me resilience in times of adversity.
Before I ask for funding I would like to insist I am no victim. Just a man struggling financially with life on life’s current terms.
10 years ago both my grandmother and mother were stricken with cancer. Both passed within months of one another. Obviously this had devastating effects on my family and friends.
Soon after my wife at the time took my two infant sons and preteen daughter out of my household and filed for divorce. Years later she wrote her point of view in a book for all to read. Including my children.
Five years later I became care taker of my ailing father during his last year, lung cancer. The best and worst year of my life. A few months later my sister also succumb to cancer.
We were a close family. I felt I handle it all as I should. Remain quiet and alone. I was wrong.
Since then I have been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety disorder, and depression. All being treated with positive results.
Due to age I may soon need knee replacements and I was just diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
I wish to help others. Unfortunately my road has been difficult and long but I will not give up on myself or others.
I lived alone until I could no longer afford it. I now reside in a halfway house to keep a roof over my head.
I no longer have a driver’s license because I am behind on child support. Currently I am unemployed but searching desperately until I can find a new career as a mental and addiction peer counselor.
I have been late every month on rent, and can no longer meet my obligations to my children.I’ve been getting by on small side jobs and day labor my body can barely handle and not sure how much longer it can. Still searching for alternative positions I may be able to fill but I am in Florida and many businesses have been temporarily closed due to hurricane season
I am an active speaker in the 12 step community and I have an opportunity to be a peer counselor at a local rehabilitation center at the beginning of the year. 2025.
I feel I would excel in this role while helping those in need.
I ask, beg for any funding so I don’t become homeless and fail my fatherly duties.
