We urgently need to raise $20,000 to pay for outstanding land taxes on two properties that mean the world to us. Our journey began 30+ years ago on a beautiful 14.8-acre property in rural East Texas. This land has seen our children grow, it has hosted countless family gatherings, and has been the backdrop of many cherished memories. Just a few miles away lies another piece of land, 88 acres in size that holds even greater sentimental value. This second property was inherited by my Husband from his adoptive parents. It was on this land that he and his Father built the home we currently live in with their hands. This home is just not a structure, it is the only connection my husband has to the parents who lovingly adopted and raised him and the last link to his beloved parents. We have always been diligent about paying our taxes on time, but due to declining health, and the higher tax amounts, we encountered severe financial hardships, including attempting to sell the smaller property, this situation has been incredibly stressful for everyone in the family.
