Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am a 55-year-old veteran who has dedicated part of my life to serving our country and subsequently transitioning into a career as a painter. However, I am writing to you today to humbly request financial assistance due to the severe physical challenges I now face, which have significantly impacted my ability to perform my job and manage daily living tasks.
After serving honorably in the military, I found solace and purpose in painting homes. Both interior and exterior. I have been able to earn decent money over the years (since 2001). Unfortunately, over the past few years, my health has deteriorated. I now have arthritis and sciatica, conditions that cause immense pain and hinder my mobility. These ailments have made it increasingly difficult to perform the physically demanding tasks associated with painting, such as climbing ladders, bending, and reaching low areas to paint.
The arthritis in my joints causes stiffness and pain, making it difficult to hold and maneuver painting tools for extended periods. My sciatica, which results from nerve compression, causes sharp, debilitating pain that radiates from my lower back down to my legs. Together, these conditions have severely limited my ability to work efficiently and safely. Tasks that once took me a short amount of time now require much longer, and I often find myself in significant pain by the end of the day. I can work 2 to 3 days before I have to take pain medication. Sometimes I use cbd topical cream or Real Time brand pain cream. They both work well for a certain amount of time until the pain is unbearable.
Due to these health issues, my income has drastically decreased. The reduced work capacity means fewer job opportunities and longer recovery times between tasks. Despite my best efforts to manage my conditions through medication, physical therapy, and lifestyle adjustments, the physical nature of painting is nearly beyond my current capabilities. This has placed an enormous financial strain on me, as I struggle to cover basic living expenses and other necessary costs. I get free medical treatment through the Veterans Hospital. That’s a blessing.
Moreover, these health challenges extend beyond my professional life. I can’t play with my grandkids like I could in recent years. The constant pain and limited mobility have affected my overall quality of life, leading to a sense of frustration and helplessness at times.
I am reaching out to request financial assistance to help alleviate some of the burdens I am facing and hopefully help me transition from hard labor to a passive income. With adequate support, I hope to explore alternative career options that are less physically demanding. I am currently working on a new YouTube channel that helps myself as well as others to strengthen and enhance the mind. Teaching people that ours minds are more powerful than most people believe. We can change ours lives if we change the way we think.
As a veteran, I have always taken pride in my ability to contribute to society and support myself. However, these health challenges have made it increasingly difficult to maintain my independence. Your support would provide me with the opportunity to adapt to my current circumstances and regain a sense of stability and dignity. Helping me to make the transition from blue collar to white collar. I don’t want to let go of the painting business totally. I have been teaching the younger generation to paint. But, it’s hard to find someone who wants to continue working.
