I met my wife outside of the UK, we dated and got married in her country.
I chose to use credit cards to pay for her visa application and health surcharge, as well as for language lessons and exams to support her application, and flights for us both to return to the UK. At that point it was manageable, I had a well paying job, but following a redundancy we had to further rely on credit cards for us to move to be nearer to my family, and to support us both while we both looked for new jobs.
We have £25k of the debt remaining, trying to deal with it is affecting every aspect of our lives, our health, our marriage.
