Dear friends and generous supporters, On August 30, 2023, our world was shattered by the devastating force of Hurricane Idalia. The home we have cherished for 25 years, where we raised our children and poured our hearts into, was torn from around us. Despite our continuous efforts, FEMA has not been able to provide the assistance we so desperately need. We have finally received approval for a loan from the Small Business Administration (SBA), and we are on the brink of closing on a new home. However, the closing costs have presented an unexpected financial burden of $26500, primarily due to a penalty imposed by SBA for the new home being slightly larger than our previous one. We find ourselves in need of additional support, as we are currently facing a shortfall of $12000.
